BAM Essentials' mission is to create high-quality, natural personal care products, by training young women with the work and life skills to succeed.
BAM Essentials envisions a society where all young women have the opportunity and skills to succeed.
Bethany Palm, Founder & CEO
Bethany Palm has been cooking up science experiments in her kitchen for years. It started with a desire to use more natural products for personal care, and has now blossomed into the BAM Essentials brand.
Bethany has dedicated her career to social enterprise, spending over 15 years in the nonprofit sector - 10 of those in social enterprise. After seeing the lack of services for young adults, specifically 18-24 years old, she combined her passion for social enterprise with her hobby of creating natural personal care products, and founded BAM Essentials.
She has been recognized as a leader in the social enterprise sector as one of the American Express 50 Under 40, and launched the Social Enterprise Alliance - Twin Cities chapter, where she served on the Executive Committee for 4 years.
Previously, she was the Director of Operations/ General Manager with CityKid Java, a coffee wholesale social enterprise in South Minneapolis supporting Urban Ventures youth programs. She was also Director of Social Enterprise for Emerge Community Development in North Minneapolis, working across four social enterprises including mattress recycling, temporary staffing, manufacturing and used office furniture resale. Currently, Bethany is working with Midwest Special Services in the East side of St. Paul, developing a social enterprise incubator and community hub space to employ adults with disabilities. Bethany has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business degree from the University of Minnesota – Curtis L. Carlson School of Management in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and a Master of Business Administration from Bethel University.
